Administrative Assistant - Meat Dept.

The Position

The Administrative Assistant in the Meat Department provides administrative and pricing support for the department by maintaining accurate cost and retail data, processing pricing updates, and assisting with weekly advertising and vendor communications. This role utilizes SAP and Excel to support department operations, ensure pricing accuracy, coordinate store communications, and maintain records related to promotions, scan allowances, and vendor agreements.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and maintain cost and retail pricing updates using SAP and other internal systems.
  • Record and reconcile weekly scan allowances, deal allowances, and other departmental income.
  • Maintain accurate pricing records and updates within internal pricing books and databases.
  • Review, proof, and process advertisements and pricing changes with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets, ad templates, and distribution grids to support weekly ad execution.
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute weekly communications and mail packets to stores.
  • Coordinate and communicate pricing and promotional changes with DSD vendors and other business partners.
  • Process store add-ons and order adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor and respond to departmental correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide administrative support, including scanning, indexing, filing, faxing, and mail distribution.
  • Assist Meat Department Buyers and other team members with operational and administrative tasks.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with intermediate computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel. (Microsoft Office suite, email, voicemail, Spreadsheets etc.)
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and visitors.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be creative and willing to pursue new ways to improve the organization.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs especially during times of high volume and/or stress.
