The Company

Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant. Ingles Markets’ headquarters and distribution center are located just 15 minutes outside of Asheville, NC in the town of Black Mountain.

The Position

The Corporate Chef is responsible for assisting in the proper management of day-to-day functions of the cafeteria. Work schedule will vary to accommodate events.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily food preparation.
  • Menu planning.
  • Work alongside other kitchen staff.
  • Organization of supplies and supply management.
  • Coordinate daily functions of kitchen staff.
  • Coordinate cafeteria and catering tasks.
  • Travel for events is required, some overnight.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years' chef experience is required.
  • Must have adequate math skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must have the ability to multitask and prioritize duties.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs, especially during times of high volume and/or stress.
  • Must have flexible availability to travel and attend events.
