Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant. Ingles Markets’ headquarters and distribution center are located just 15 minutes outside of Asheville, NC in the town of Black Mountain.

The Position
The Human Resources Senior Administrative Assistant performs a variety of administrative tasks to support the daily functions of the Human Resources Department. The Administrative Assistant provides knowledgeable assistance and answers associate questions about human resources policies, employment, and other company-related queries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scan, index, and maintain an organized electronic filing system.
- Resolve questions through phone calls and emails by troubleshooting or delegation.
- Assist with HR related events: hiring fairs, associate recognition, and other special events.
- Ensure associate badges are made and appropriately assigned/distributed.
- Assist and monitor team-shared email inboxes.
- Accurately complete Unemployment Claims and State Calls.
- Maintain the status of background checks to ensure compliance.
- Fill and deliver internal store orders to the Distribution Center and corporate associates.
- Assist associates during HR Office Hours in the Distribution Center.
- Performs other duties and assignments as directed.
The Ideal Candidate:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Spanish fluency in speaking and writing strongly preferred.
- 2+ year's experience in an administrative assistant role in an office setting.
- Experience in human resources is a plus.
- Intermediate computer skills and experience with Office 365 applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to communicate with employees, coworkers, and vendors effectively.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, time management, and detail-oriented skills.
