The Company
Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant. Ingles Markets’ headquarters and distribution center are located just 15 minutes outside of Asheville, NC in the town of Black Mountain.

The Position
The Windows Administrator is a subject matter expert in converting theoretical knowledge into practical applications with minimal supervision. They carry out all the tasks within their function independently. The Windows Administrator is adept at managing large projects or processes, analyzing diverse problems, and finding the best solutions. They manage programs that develop strategies and administer policies, processes, and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain all Windows systems for maximum availability and optimum performance
- Maintain all software running on Windows systems to ensure availability and auditing compliance
- Train peers on all Windows support duties and users on the apps they access
- Compile and maintain documentation for training and reference for windows related duties
- Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
- Providing technical support for staff and back-end system users.
- Troubleshooting system and server errors.
- Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors.
- Monitoring and updating the Windows codebase.
- Managing user access.
- Monitoring system performance.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree and seven years’ experience or equivalent professional experience. Prefer degree concentration in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Technical Writing, or Business.
- 7+ years of experience with computer desktop and server systems hardware and software and associated subsystems. Including multiplatform support, computer architecture and technology, varying operating systems, both desktop and server,
- 7+ years of experience with PC hardware and software, networked operating systems, supporting networks, and excellent troubleshooting. Experience supporting Windows Desktops.
- 7+ years of experience in document creation, management, and imaging.
- 7+ years of experience with current technology and practices, including application and network security.
- 7+ years of experience with VMware and VMware Horizon
- Must live in AL, GA, NC, SC, TN or VA.
