Opportunity

The Assistant Meat Market Manager is responsible for assisting the Manager in the effective overall operation of the Meat Department to achieve sales and profit goals established for the department.

Key Responsibilites

• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting customers and answering questions.
• Advise customers on products and ensure cases and shelves are properly stocked, faced, and rotated for freshness.
• Receive, weigh, break down, cut, trim, wrap, label, and display meat products following approved procedures.
• Maintain accurate invoices, logs, and records for deliveries, price changes, and spoilage write-offs.
• Train associates as needed and assist in controlling department expenses and product quality.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and weights/measures regulations; follow sanitary procedures and maintain equipment in good working order.
• Monitor surroundings for hazards, report equipment issues, and uphold store rules and policies.
• Contribute to a clean, attractive department image and perform other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to scheduled hours and store rules.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Previous meat department/butcher experience is preferred.
• SERV Safe Certification is preferred.
• Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs especially during times of high volume and/or stress.
• Must be able to read and do simple math problems. 
• Wants to be part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• 18 years of age or older.
